Teams

The Des Moines Rugby Club was founded in the spring of 1970 and is a member of the Midwest Rugby Union. With two full size fields and a beautiful clubhouse, the Des Moines Rugby Club is not only a main destination for rugby in Iowa, it's one of the top clubs in the nation.

Men 15's
Division 2

Our 15s season is divided into two seasons: Spring and Fall.

Spring season starts in February and ends in May. This season focuses on building the team foundations. It is centered around scrimmages, local tournaments, and preparing the team for the Fall.

Fall season is our competitive season. The season officially starts in August - although we train for it year round. We are part of the D2 Midwest Conference. Our goal is to win the Men's D2 national title.

Women 15's
Division 3

Summer Sevens

Des Moines offers a competitive men and women sevens season during the summer. Sevens season practice starts in late May and ends in late July.

The 2024 Iowa Summer Series schedule includes:

- Capital City 7s @ Des Moines

- Fish Bone 7s @ Clinton

- Bluff Country 7s @ Decorah

- Bix @ Quad City

​

In addition to these tournaments, we'll also participate in our annual Mad Jack and Toys For Tots home tournaments.
